RE: An Important Message to all CRPAA Members

When CRPAA was organized as a non-profit in 2016, it set out to serve the needs of commercial drone pilots through advocacy, job creation, education and group pricing on the products and services drone operators use the most.

After significant effort and continued evaluation of our success with our mission, we regret to inform you that CRPAA is no longer a viable organization.  The decision was difficult; but after an extensive survey to our members and the industry, the feedback was decisive that the most valuable benefit the industry is asking for is advocacy for commercial drone operators and the shaping of future laws that make sense.  As a small non-profit, we simply do not have the resources to make an impact on your behalf.

As CRPAA begins the necessary steps to dissolve as an organization, our members remain our highest concern.

INTRODUCING AUVSI

There is one organization that is effectively representing drone pilots both legislatively and with new developing businesses and technologies which closely align with the mission and vision of CRPAA:  The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI).

In recognition of the efforts and intentions of CRPAA’s plan to serve its members, AUVSI has agreed to ‘adopt’ our member base and transition all members who have joined CRPAA into their organization.  AUVSI will be giving each CRPAA member 6 months of complimentary membership to explore and take advantage of all the services and benefits they have been providing the civil and commercial sectors, the government and academia since 1972.

You will be joining the world’s largest community of professional remote pilots and have the opportunity to become involved in your local chapter, network with other professionals and witness an organization advocate on behalf of the industry at every level.

Please take a moment and review everything that will be available to you at www.AUVSI.org.

While this will be the last formal communication to our member base, the following points of contact exist to serve you through the transition:

CRPAA

(412) 889-1128

AUVSI

Of course, if for any reason you choose not to experience the benefits of AUVSI, simply reach out to membership@auvsi.org to be removed from the membership.

How do you get started? Either simultaneously with our communication or shortly thereafter you will receive your welcome kit from AUVSI that will contain everything you will need.  And if you are ready to get started right away, check out AUVSI’s  XPONENTIAL 2019 Conference in Chicago. It’s the largest industry show of its kind and begins in about 2 weeks – including their Annual Remote Pilots Council Summit.

In closing,
We appreciate and give thanks to everyone who helped launch CRPAA and hope you find yourself to be a great fit with AUVSI and its local chapters.

Fly Safe!
